Responsible for assuring appropriate screening of patients to determine eligibility for insurance coverage.
Must meet deadlines and manage competing demands
Must have knowledge of insurance payment processing
Ability to perform routine mathematical calculations
Ability to maintain confidentiality and maintain accuracy
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Proficient with Windows, MS Office, Excel, Outlook and Internet Explorer
Demonstrates an independent work initiative, sound judgement, and strong work ethics
Ability to handle multi tasks simultaneously
High School graduate or equivalent.
Certified by Mississippi Medicaid as Hospital Performance Eligibility Specialist preferred.
Post secondary education in accounting or related business field preferred.
Minimum of two years experience in medical billing, collections, insurance coding preferred.
